401 Marathons in 401 Days, now thats a pretty big ask but that is exactly what Ben Smith is trying to achieve over the next year and a bit.
Anyone who has ever run a marathon will tell you that is pretty tough, you tend to hit the wall at mile 20ish and then battle out the last 6.2 miles through gritted teeth, however to get out of bed the next day with tired and stiff legs and run it all again is not something many people would find that enjoyable but that is exactly what Ben is doing day after day. Mark and Darren from Magma had the opportunity to run the first 10 miles with Ben on his 100th Marathon around Pitsford Reservoir, and being keen runners/triathletes jumped at the chance, if work hadn’t got in the way then they may have joined him for the whole day!
Ben is back in the local area running Marathon No 245 in Milton Keynes on the 2nd May 2016 and No 246 on the 3rd May 2016 in Corby, he loves people coming along and running a mile or the full 26.2 miles, so if you are free on either of those days why not turn up and cheer him along.
Also head over to Ben’s website to see the reasons he is doing this and to make a donation to support the great causes he is doing this for, The 401 Challenge
